Happy Birthday WDP
This is the 40th birthday of WDP so we are using that as our theme for the retreat. Our 'Entry Item' this year will be a gift bag that has been painted with our personal work.  Your gift bag may be embellished with anything but it must have something painted on it.  Everyone will vote on their favorite painted gift bag and the winner will receive a prize of $25.  We will not have items for sale this year.  However, we are providing a separate room with tables for attendees to set up their own booth of items to sell.  There is no charge for a table but we need to know no later than 2 weeks prior to the retreat if you plan to sell your own items.  You bring your own items, set up your own display, break your table down , and take home all unsold items.  We will also have a Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction.  We are asking all members to put together a transparent bag of items to be auctioned off in the Chinese Auction.  The contents should be valued around $20.  If you prefer, you may send a check payable to WDP and the retreat committee will put together a bag for you.  If you have any questions, please contact Patty Pfund at [email protected].

Old Round to apply Miskit

Watercolor Paper is 9" x 12" (300 lb. or 140 lb. Cold Pressed)

Miscellaneous:
Masking Fluid
Q-Tips
Spary Bottle
Liquid Soap
Blow Dryer
Bur Painters Tape
Flat Board or Clipboard

Prep:
Using blue painters tape, attach your watercolor paper to a flat board or large clipboard.  Transfer the design, placing the flower in the top-left corner of your paper. Apply miskit:  Wet old round brush in a mixture of soap and water, them dip in the masking fluid and cover the entire pattern - the whole flower, all leaves, all stems and the bud.  Allow the miskit to dry, approximately 5 minutes.  Do not apply it to your paper more than 24 hours before you want to remove it as it will remove part of your paper when it has been left on the paper too long.
