Wiregrass Decorative Painters, Enterprise, AL
Serving members in Southeast Alabama,
Northwest Florida, and Southwest Georgia since 1978.
Our purpose is to stimulate interest in, and appreciation for, the art of decorative painting.
We are all artists; just at different levels. Decorative painting is about self-fulfillment. It's about creating and developing your abilities.
Decorative painting classes are a wonderful way to relax with your friends and expand your talents. Treat yourself to a fun and exciting time away from the hassles of everyday routines.
What is decorative painting?
Tole painting was the general term historically used to describe decorative painting on tin surfaces. But current decorative painting is so much more.
Contemporary decorative painting offers opportunities for artistic self-expression and creative satisfaction. Decorative painting utilizes a variety of teachable techniques and media to decorate functional and non-functional surfaces. Because of the systematic teaching methods employed, a high degree of success can be achieved without academic training or inherent drawing ability.
You do not have to be able to draw to learn to paint beautifully using our methods.
We use a variety of media including acrylics, oil, watercolors, and colored pencils. We are not limited to a particular style or painting surface. We paint on wood, metals, canvas, watercolor paper, cards, concrete, plastic, fabric, glass, tile, etc.
Monthly activities for members include:
Regular Meeting - 4th Wednesday - A short business meeting followed by a project lesson taught by one of our members. A variety of mediums and techniques are taught according to the focus of each project.
An additional Workshop Day - TBA
Intermediate Classes - Beginning in April
See tabs for more info on each activity, membership costs and benefits.
We are a friendly bunch and we have fun. You are welcome to visit and see what we are all about.
