July 11, 2012
Noreen will be teaching this Margot Clark design (with permission). This is Brugmansia commonly known as Angel Trumpets. You do not have to be a member of Wiregrass Decorative Painters to come to the workshops at the library. There is no cost. Bring your own supplies. List will be furnished. This is Margot's shaded wash technique and is very soft. Acrylic. Please contact us if you want to come to this class. We are limited to 15 because of space. Reserve your place today. Suggested surface - 16 x 20 mat board. Alternate surface - basecoated hardboard. Canvas not suitable for this technique. If you like to paint this is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to achieve this soft look.

April Workshop Activity
Come play with the newest Loew Cornell brushes and other speciality brushes. Find out what you can do with them. This play time will leave plenty of time for working on something else you personally want to do or need help with. So come have some fun playing with brushes, go to lunch and maybe get a UFO finished.
March Workshop Project
We will be doing this project. The Butterfly is really easy - not complicated to achieve at all.
You will need to get a 12" x 12" square stepping stone. They are available at Lowe's. You will need to scrub it to remove any loose concrete and/or dirt. Use a bleach/water solution. I also use a broken piece of concrete as a sanding tool to knock off any rough edges.
Allow to dry 24 hours away from weather. Be sure to prop it up so the bottom and sides also get completely dry. Seal with Multi-Purpose Sealer, top, sides and bottom. Allow to dry.
DecoArt Patio Paints palette.
Pine Green, Citrus Green, Wrought Iron Black, Bright Lime Green, Antique Mum, Pumpkin, Tiger L:ily Orange, Holly Berry Red, Fiesta Yellow, Warm White.
Alternately, you may use similar colors in either FolkArt Outdoor Paint, Delta Outdoor paint, or you may use DecoArt (or other brands) regular acrylic paints. Regular acrylics will work just fine. I used regular acrylics on the sample piece.
Supplies: Regular painting supplies. Bring a variety of older brushes. Concrete is rough so don't plan to use your best brushes.
